JD Power Dealer of Excellence only recognizes new vehicle dealerships that meet or exceed performance standards consistently, meaning that only about 400 new-vehicle dealers across the United States and Canada qualify for certification.
To qualify, a dealership must:
- Rank among their brand's top performers in key SSI areas, which evaluate every step of the customer service experience
- Pass an initial screening
- Complete and pass an in-dealership process verification that focuses on eleven JD Power Best Practices
- Demonstrate a minimum of nine out of the eleven criteria
