We believe in being positive and giving back to the community. Without a doubt, this is the primary motivation behind Mercedes-Benz of Nashville's involvement with such charitable organizations as Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Make-A-Wish is an organization devoted to enriching the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work and Second Harvest's mission is to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in our community. Through the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championship Golf Tournament, Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championship Tennis Tournament, and the Serving Up Wishes Tennis Tournament, we've had the good fortune to raise a substantial amount of money to help many people.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz of Nashville sponsored the Annual Music City Tennis Invitational for seven years. The invitational, a Nashville tradition that brings together professional athletes and music industry professionals, is a charity event that benefits Vanderbilt Center for Child Development in Nashville. Mercedes-Benz of Nashville has helped donate a total of $860,000 through the MCTI to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.Â
We are also a regular sponsor of Special Olympics, the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics provides year-round training and competitions to more than 3.7 million athletes in more than 170 countries.
