We love seeing those older cars. They’re classically cool, and very impressive given the context of their cohorts. We’re also super excited about that last one, the Mercedes-AMG GT R. The 2018 model comes out in the summer of 2018 and we can barely wait that long.
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R is powered by a 4.0-liter V8, which produces 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It’s made of lightweight materials like carbon fiber, making for a great power-to-weight ratio. With masterful aerodynamic engineering, the GT R is sleek and cuts easily through the air, using downforce to gain traction. Its max speed is 198 mph.
Mercedes-AMG took its AMG RIDE CONTROL® and AMG TRACTION CONTROL® systems right from its racecars and put them in the GT R for superior handling and power transfer. It’ll be legal on the roads, but the Mercedes-AMG GT R is race-inspired and will always be ready for a day at the track.
