Performance
The differences between the entry-level GLE 350 and the entry-level GLS 450 start under the hood. The GLE 350 draws 255 horsepower from a turbo four-cylinder engine. This system is available with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The GLS 450 has a six-cylinder, 3.0-liter engine and a nine-speed shiftable auto transmission. It is a 375-horsepower system with standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The engaging design of the 2026 GLE 350 is established by chiseled contouring rolling across the sides and a strongly arched roof. The hood’s height and definition express confidence, while the nose has a premium quality. The wide grille flares outward and is styled with a three-point star emblem and chrome columns. The LED headlights display segmented and solid LED bars, and the lower air inlets have two horizontal accents.
The GLS is a larger model with a boxier stance. Its sides are well-defined, and the lower door panels have ledge-style accents. The grille is comparable to the GLE’s grille, but it has curved sides. The headlights have squared-off corners, an upper LED ribbon, and a pair of angled LED bars.
Features
The GLE 350 is thoughtfully appointed with a full selection of premium features, including a blind-spot warning, a forward collision avoidance system, wireless smartphone charging, a dual-zone climate control system, a power liftgate, a sunroof, MB-Tex upholstery, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, heated front seats, and others.
The 2026 GLS 450 offers several of these features: active lane change assistance, a surround-view camera, a wireless charging pad, augmented video for the navigation system, and a 13-speaker premium sound system.
