With the introduction of the all-electric EQS SUV in 2023, the Mercedes-Benz lineup takes an exciting turn. This SUV is closely styled after the EQS sedan. While the SUV and the sedan sit on the same platform, the EQS SUV is 7.8 inches taller and offers an optional third row of seats in its cabin. The EQS 450 4MATIC® SUV and the EQS 580 4MATIC® SUV will be two available trims for the introductory model year. How do these elite options compare?

The 2023 EQS 450 4MATIC® SUV produces 355 horsepower. In comparison, the EQS 580 4MATIC® SUV creates 536 horsepower. Both of these electric luxury SUVs feature dual electric motors. Both of the EQS SUV’s trims for 2023 have an impressive battery range of 285 miles. Both trims also come with Dynamic Select, featuring special modes for Individual, Comfort, Sport, and more to take performance to a higher level. In addition, the EQS SUV is engineered with adaptive damping, rear-axle steering, and an air suspension.

You will spot minimal differences between the trims when you see them side-by-side at Mercedes-Benz of Nashville. This is a tall SUV with a tapered nose and a dramatic angle through the liftgate. This profile ensures ample cabin and cargo space. From the side view, you will notice that the EQS SUV has a striking chrome bar lining the lower perimeter from end to end. Personality is added to the EQS SUV through its chrome-topped, glossy black grille and its bold, slender LED headlights.

The strong appeal of the 2023 EQS SUV continues with the modern features found in both trim levels. The EQS SUV introduces the Hyperscreen, which covers 56 inches on the dashboard and delivers access to the central display screen, the driver’s gauges, and the infotainment equipment for the passenger. Some of the EQS SUV’s other exciting features are blind spot detection, biometry authentication, active lane keeping, augmented reality navigation, active distance assist, the updated MBUX system, active ambient cabin lighting, and a Dolby Atmos premium audio system.
