Since 1993, the C-Class sedan has been the compact luxury car that drivers in the Nashville area and beyond have been drawn to, thanks to its all-around great looks and exciting capabilities. As you prepare to buy your next car, you need to get familiar with the updates that have been made to the latest version of the C-Class. For 2022, the C-Class introduces its fifth generation, and it brings three trim levels to the mix at the same time. The three trims offered for the C-Class sedan are the Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle. What else should you know about the Mercedes-Benz C-Class before you finalize your selection?

The differences between the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the 2022 version begin under the hood. In the 2021 version, a nine-speed automatic transmission balance with a turbocharged I-4, 2.0-liter gas engine generates 255 horsepower. Rear-wheel and 4MATIC® all-wheel drive are both available for you to choose from. In 2022, the C-Class sedan comes with this same turbocharged I-4 engine. However, it is souped up with mild-hybrid technology and a starter-generator. While it has the same 255-horsepower output as its predecessor, it raises the bar with superior torque output.

When you compare the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan next to the 2022 version, you will notice that the newer version is longer and wider. The cabin also trends toward the rear to a greater extent. The nose has a fresh look with power domes on the hood, an A-shaped grille with a stardust mesh pattern, and revised headlights. For 2022, Mercedes-Benz introduces five new exterior colors.

The C-Class is a premium sedan loaded with advanced features for both 2021 and 2022, but there are notable differences. Both model years have smart device integration, dual digital display screens, premium materials, and the MBUX system. In 2022, the C-Class adds wireless technology for the smart device integration and a next-gen MBUX system. The 2022 version also gives you a portrait layout for the central display screen, an angled center stack, active stop-and-go assist, active driving assist, active lane change assist, active steering assist, and a few other updates.
